Well here it goes- House Plant Collective has taken the first big leap into the mobile plant world with the purchase of our first bus!
There may be a (small) chance that my friends and family may think I’m crazy, but I am so excited to start this plant journey and to share all the bus conversion fun and troubles with you all along the way.
To start us out- I would like to reiterate that I am not, nor will I ever be, a contractor or mechanic. So we are really in for it as my new short bus is an oldie but goodie!
(name still pending) She is a 1995 GMC Bluebird, Model B-series.
With fairly low mileage, she was previously used for a school system in Georgia then moved to good ole Alabama to shuttle workers at the Mercedes work site. Little to no rust, seats still in tact, and even a handicap lift to get those larger plants moving!
At only $2500- she was a steal that we could NOT pass up.
For now, we have spent a little time cleaning her up a bit, but cannot wait to get into the more demo and design process.
Feel free to follow us along on our social media and blog to check out all the progress pics and video clips as we make our way through this school bus conversion into a mobile jungle oasis.
